Withering Glory was inspired by the frailty of nature. I am interested in how an installation can come alive with a living breathing human being as a part of it. Likewise, how can a person come alive in connection to their adornment and their environment?
The Withering Glory Kimono was inspired by the beauty and simplicity of Japanese culture and it's timeless silhouette, which can fit any body type. The neck piece was part of a series of fiber art necklaces inspired by elements of nature and African tribal adornments. The garment has hand painted trim along the neckline and shoulder, gold delicate hand stitched hems, and silver metallic thread stitched along the hand drawn flowers.
